Hey Reader, Have you ever had your reverse T3 checked? My guess is… probably not. And if you’ve ever asked your doctor about it, there’s a good chance you were told it “doesn’t matter.” WRONG!! It does matter, and it can be a huge missing piece if you’re still struggling with symptoms. Here’s why 👇 When we look at your thyroid labs, it’s not just about how much thyroid hormone you have… it’s about what your body is actually doing with it. Your thyroid primarily produces T4, which is your inactive hormone. Your body then has to convert that into T3, the active hormone that actually drives your metabolism, energy, mood, and more. But here’s where things can go wrong… Instead of converting T4 into active T3, your body can convert it into reverse T3... which essentially acts like a “brake pedal” on your metabolism. So even if your labs look “normal”… 👉 You can still feel exhausted, stuck, and not like yourself. When your reverse T3 is too high, it’s usually a sign of one of two things:
