Hello, You’ve probably been told to “fix your hormones”... all the peri and menopausal women are doing this… but no one tells you where to start. That’s exactly why I created this hormone podcast series... because most women are working backwards, and it’s keeping them stuck. Here’s what we’ve covered so far: Episode 5: The Hormone Hierarchy – Why Cortisol Runs the Show. Listen Here. Episode 6: Insulin & Blood Sugar - The Metabolic Gatekeeper Listen Here. Episode 7: Thyroid & Metabolism - Why Fat Loss Feels Impossible. Listen Here. Coming Next: Because once the foundation hormones are off… midlife hits harder, symptoms worsen, and things feel like they’re spiraling. Let’s talk about a hormone almost no one explains correctly: ProgesteroneProgesterone is often referred to as your “calming hormone” because of the way it supports your nervous system. When levels are optimal, you tend to feel more grounded, sleep more deeply, and handle stress with more ease. But progesterone doesn’t exist in isolation, it’s deeply connected to your stress response. When your body perceives ongoing stress, it prioritizes producing cortisol (your survival hormone). To do that, it pulls from the same building blocks needed to produce progesterone. And obviously, over time this shift can leave progesterone levels lower than optimal. This is when many women start noticing subtle but frustrating changes such as feeling more anxious, wired but tired, struggling with sleep, or experiencing worsening PMS symptoms. And here’s the key: 🔑 if stress isn’t addressed first, progesterone support often doesn’t fully resolve the issue. The body will continue choosing survival over balance. This is exactly why we started this Hormone Series with cortisol because everything downstream, including progesterone, depends on it. If you haven’t started the series yet, go back and begin with Episode 5, it will completely change how you understand your body.
